Buy Bonsai Plants Online In Delhi

A hobby that can keep you enthralled for years is Bonsai Plants which is a 2000 years old Japanese art of creating a miniature tree in the confined space of a container. The beautiful shape of a miniature tree is a sight to behold for the viewer! A good Bonsai isn't a plant, it is a living piece of art!

Trees and shrubs with branches are suitable for Bonsai cultivation and in India popular species are chiku and banyan. You start with a source material (Bonsai sapling) which may be a small portion of a thin branch or it may be newly germinated plant. This is placed in a pot and watered as well as fertilized. As it grows the plant is trimmed, pruned, shaped, grafted and roots clipped to enable development of a miniature tree of the envisaged shape. A Bonsai will only take proper form after it has been nurtured for at least 10 to 12 years.

Bonsai has been present in India from decades and various organisations and clubs dedicated to Bonsai are functional in cities. Beginners learn fundamentals of Bonsai by attending classes. Exhibitions and workshops also take place and renowned Bonsai masters from abroad are invited to these events to lecture and demonstrate new and innovative techniques in Bonsai cultivation. So, go for it but ensure that you have one hour to spare every day to trim, prune and shape the plant.

Bonsai is a time-consuming passion and requires dedication but the sheer joy and thrill of seeing your Bonsai grow makes the effort worthwhile!

Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Changes Car After Crow Sits On It

It all started with a black crow sitting on the bonnet of Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah's official car. Now a new car has been bought for him.

For a man who is believed to be an atheist and for a leader who throughout his political career has advocated against superstition, this has turned out to be a black mark on his stand.

On June 2, it was reported that a crow perched itself on Siddaramaiah's official car. Twenty minutes later, the crow refused to budge, and had to be physically moved or removed. The twist in the tale came a few weeks later when a new car was ordered. The chief minister though, clearing the air off the camera, said that the new car was bought because the old one needed repairs.

PROPOSAL TO BUY A NEW CAR TAKEN 2 MONTHS AGO?

Sources from the chief minister's office have said that there was a proposal to buy a new Toyota Fortuner two months ago and it was incidental that the crow sat on the old car. Officials in the chief minister's office have also said under anonymity that the car had run more than 2 lakh kms and developed technical snags. But many believe that it was the crow that drew away the old car.

OPPOSITION TARGETS SIDDARAMAIAH

However, the opposition is now using this as ammunition to train their guns on CM Siddaramaiah.

"The new car exposes the double standard of Siddaramaiah. For a man, who swears to be a rationalist, here is a classic case of not practising what he preaches," said Karnataka BJP general secretary, CT Ravi.

Samsung is working on a new virtual reality headset

Samsung is working on a virtual reality headset more along the lines of the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.Samsung's head of R&D for software and services Injong Rhee revealed the plans during a conference in San Francisco yesterday.

"We are working on wireless and dedicated VR devices, not necessarily working with our mobile phone,” Rhee said. Samsung's current product is the Gear VR which uses a compatible Samsung device to act as the display. Samsung is now apparently working on a standalone device.

It will however be some time before we see anything like this from the company. "VR is amazing, but the industry is still at its infancy," said Rhee. While we wait for that, the Gear 360 camera will be out this Friday, although a price has not been announced yet.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh: Nationalist Group Changes Dress Code From Shorts to Pants

It is the most talked about dress code in India this weekend.India's largest and most strident Hindu nationalist organization, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, is changing. No, not its core beliefs of Hindu supremacist pride. But its dress code.

Members of this 91-year old group of which Prime Minister Narendra Modi is part, traditionally wore loose khaki shorts, high socks and white shirts. The group conducts military-style drills, bamboo stick fights and sings hymns to the Indian motherland in small neighborhood parks across India at dawn.

But now the khaki shorts, the signature look of a member, are going to be replaced with brown pants."We have decided to replace khaki shorts with brown-colored full pants," said Bhaiyyaji Joshi, one of the top leaders of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, or RSS. "Full pants are more common in normal life, so we have accepted it now. We are a group that moves with the times."

RSS' critics in India often lampoon its trademark wide shorts and derisively call its members "chaddi" or shorts. They routinely post awkward photographs of its overweight members in the loose shorts.

The RSS, which is Hindi for National Volunteer Corps, seeks to unite Hindus and restore national pride after centuries of Muslim invasions and foreign rule. But its belligerent rhetoric has often spurred Hindu-Muslim tensions and violence in this officially secular but predominantly Hindu country of 1.2 billion people.

Modi's election victory in 2014 has pitched the RSS into national spotlight again. Many critics say that the growing popularity of RSS' ideology is changing the secular and liberal character of India's multi-religious society.
